Guest Post: Kings of Bled by Benji (Aged 7)

Today I am exceedingly proud to introduce Benji, our youngest guest poster (and also my son!) Inspired by the writings of his mum, he wanted to write his own story, and he’s chosen a mystical genealogy of the Kings of Lake Bled. I really hope you like this story, and I know Benji will be thrilled if you leave a comment!

Kings of Bled

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS NO KING IN BLED SO THE FIRST MAN TO GET TO THE TOP OF THE BIG MOUNTAINS WOULD BE THE KING OF BLED. THE GOVERNMENT SAID THE FIRST KING WAS JORGE BERNAD AGE : 53  NATIONALITY: FRENCH.  THEN SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED: HE WAS PUSHED INTO THE WATER BUT NEVERTHELESS HE STRUGGLED OUT AND REIGNED FOR 50 YEARS. THE NEXT KING WAS JOEL AGE: 25 NATIONALITY: BRAZILIAN. HIS 32 YEAR REIGN ENDED WHEN HE RETIRED AS KING. THE NEXT KING WAS ALEX MC GREEN OF SCOTLAND. HE TOO RETIRED AFTER A 72 YEAR REIGN! HE WAS THE LONGEST REIGNING KING OF BLED.

THE KING WHO SUCCEEDED HIM WAS THE NICEST OF ALL THE KINGS OF BLED: HIS NAME WAS LUCIN DE BOCK OF THE NETHERLANDS AND HE REIGNED FOR 20 YEARS.

BLED NO LONGER HAS A KING BUT IT STILL HAS A CASTLE SO MAYBE I WILL BE KING OF BLED ONE DAY!

Benji hopes you like his post!

  1. A very well written story. If/when I visit, I hope to call and meet the next king of Bled. Xx
