Guest Post: Don Matthews Trilogy #8

G’day readers! More madcap mayhem with a serious twist from the mind of Aussie poet Don Matthews today. If you like this, you’ll love Don’s very own website, The Flippant, Comic, and Serious. If you’re lucky you may even get to meet Priscilla, the Cat of Many Colours (featured in one of her many guises above).

My Task as a Poet

My task as a poet is simple
My task it has never been in doubt
Writers and poets all do it
They bring what’s inside up and out

I now have a website to do this
A website where it can be seen
Stored on the WordPress’s server
One click gets it up on the screen

Blankety Blank

Right now my head’s so jolly empty
I think they call it writer’s block
I don’t want to waste what’s now up there
So blankety, blank, blankety, blank blank

Three Souls

Do I bare my inner soul here
On a world-wide stage
To an unknown audience?

You have three souls poet

One you can bare on a world stage
One you bare to your family
And one you bare only to yourself
