Tireless #poetry for Earth Day 2021

I am tireless
in fighting for my childrenโ€™s future
and that of every creature on this earth:

tireless in fighting
to defend all of nature
not only now, in perpetuity.

I am tireless
for the cause of poetry
ever-believing it returns to us humanity;

tireless in calling out
the lies, backhanders, the
political ties, blindsiding.

I am tireless
with the tellers of the truth
who fight to save the earth, risk-takers

shouting with the voice of youth
who did not make the bed they have to lie in

and above all I am tireless
to hear each and every song
which illuminates injustice, separating
right from wrong.

  1. O to be young and tireless again. I get filled with the spirit but I keep leaking! Glad we don’t march alone. Wonderful sense of shouldering the work together here. Congrats on completing your hymnal, may it become an essential for the pew to come! The Earth I live and breathe thanks you. – Brendan

    1. Thank you Brendan: itโ€™s not quite complete but it is coming together…it is a learning experience for me as well as a passion project!

  2. Ingrid, your fine poem touched upon all the important points. I especially agree that we should be tireless on behalf of the children, who inherited an environment that’s in a mess through no fault of their own. <3 Take care.

    1. I feel it very strongly as I watch my kids grow up. Some good news out of the US today, I hope the tide is beginning to turn in favour of saving the planet ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’š ๐ŸŒŠ

  3. Ingrid, I am excited to read your Anthropocene Hymnal when completed. I know it will be as passionate and polished as all of your published posts. Your talent is a gift and your fire is not only a great model for your family, but it ignites your readers.

  4. It’s a tireless job Ingrid that you do so well and motivate others to do their part. Nicely done and keep inspiring๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒท
