I realise it’s been a while since I hosted a Sonnet Sunday as I have been very busy with dVerse, publishing a book, trying to finish my novel, etc. What better time to revive this poetry party than Halloween? Last year’s EIF Halloween Poetry Challenge was a spooky success, and I’m hoping to recapture some of the fun, without the competitive element.
With this in mind, I am giving plenty of notice that I will be hosting a Halloween Sonnet Sunday event on October 31st. Channel your inner Shakespeare with a dash of Edgar Allan Poe, and do your best to haunt me with your poetry!
How to take part
- Write a sonnet on the theme of Halloween.
- Email your sonnet to experimentsinfiction@protonmail.com for a chance to be featured on this blog.
- Post the sonnet on your blog on 31 October and link back to this post.
- Check the comment section of this post on Halloween day and be sure to read some of the sonnets written by fellow participants.
Please note, this is not a competition, it is simply a halloween poetry festival which I hope you can take part in. If you’re on Twitter follow #SonnetSunday for further updates…
Happy Haunting!
Ingrid
