Publish your book with EIF!

Back in November, I announced that Experiments In Fiction was going into business, and ever since, I have been working on the business side of my creative venture. If you have not already done so, please sign up for my newsletter to find out more!

New publications on the horizon…

I will be publishing my first solo poetry collection, 40 Poems at 40 on 11.02.22. This is a highly personal story of my poetic journey so far. By the end of February, Tricia Sankey will become the first EIF Affiliate Author with the publication of her novella The Light in The Cave.

An exciting opportunity

From the outset, I envisaged EIF as a collaborative venture. I wanted to promote and publish works of fiction by a variety of authors, and I am now ready to take a further step in that direction. In July of 2021, I published the collaborative poetry anthology The Anthropocene Hymnal, a project which not only created a great book and raised money for WWF, but also gave me experience of designing, promoting and marketing my own publication. I am now offering the benefit of my experience to give you the chance to do the same.

My offer to you

My plan is to offer book design, promotion and editing services to emerging writers who want to get their book ‘out there,’ but are new to the world of independent publishing. I am therefore putting together two packages to help bring your book to market:

Digital publishing package

  • Create a beautifully-designed e-book with an eye-catching cover.
  • Professional editing services.
  • Help and guidance with the digital publishing process.
  • Exclusive use of EIF branding to market your book.
  • Promote your book via all EIF channels (WordPress, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Professional promotional materials to market your book via social media channels.
  • Choose to self-publish or be published by EIF.

Paperback package

  • Create a professionally-designed paperback with bespoke text and cover design.
  • Professional editing services.
  • All publishing services handled by EIF: you only need provide your manuscript.
  • Published by EIF, includes use of EIF branding to market your book.
  • Promote your book via all EIF channels (WordPress, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Professional promotional materials to market your book via social media channels.
  • Royalties payable.

What am I looking for?

All EIF-affiliated publications will of course be subject to editorial approval. I will consider the following:

  • Novels, novellas, collections of short stories and flash fiction. These should be experimental in some aspect of their composition (e.g. content, language, structure, narrative.)
  • Poetry collections (chapbook or full-length.) I am looking for poetry that breaks the mould in some way. I love lyrical and narrative poetry with a modern twist. I’ll also consider comic poetry.

To enquire about submissions and fees, email ingrid@experimentsinfiction.com. I am hugely excited about this new venture!

Ingrid

    1. Thank you Kerfe. That’s what I was thinking: perhaps more friendly and approachable than some publishers but with a good design and marketing strategy!

      1. If I can find a good illustrator, perhaps! I have an idea for a children’s poem that I’d like to publish myself 😊

  1. This is amazing news, Ingrid! I cannot wait to see where this journey takes you and, as I am looking to publish two books of my own, your venture will certainly be foremost on my mind.
    May the words flow!

  2. This is so exciting and right up your alley Ingrid. Like you know… I’m all in and can’t wait to read your 2 new books and take a ticket. Is Benji driving the train? Cuz you know it will be full steam aboard if so! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

  3. Can’t wait to read your 40 poems at 40, Ingrid. This is most exciting news. I’d love to put together a chapbook of poems one day. All well-wishes as you begin this journey. ❀️

  4. That’s exciting news, Ingrid! A belated happy new year to you, and thank you for The Anthropocene Hymnal!
    All the best in 2022…JIM

  5. Goodness, lady… you’re on a roll and I think I love it. I’ve been a faithful participant, waving flags on the sidelines sometimes, and pushing my way through the noise on TheSocial at others, doing for others who I love helping. I have taken courses, you see. And have earned me a spot in a lovely “cartel” (it’s a LONG story I cannot describe here)
For the time being, the novel I started in 2017 is on the back burner– I’m stretching to reach the stars with poetry. I am in love with it. I “might” *double-wink* want to get a poetry collection published through EIF. Yay!
I’ve been trying to find a way to tell my heart it’s the right time to give US a real try.
Your post and enthusiasm excites me. Yes, please. Thanks.
(to tell the truth, I mention this thing about talking to my heart in my soon to go out newsletter for January…)
Congratulations from the deepest recesses of my heart. I bow to you.

    1. Thank you for your wonderful words, Selma! I am always here to reach out to should you wish to start your publishing journey 😊 my novel has taken a back burner in favour of poetry too, and I know that doesn’t make commercial sense, but it makes sense in my ❀️
