Flush Green #poetry #earthweal

Flush green against the sky in early May
the mountains in their splendour undulate
towards the valley, beneath clouds of grey
from dreams of yesterday, new dreams create

The mountains in their splendour undulate
while lovers walk beneath their shadowed gaze
from dreams of yesterday new dreams create
as winter love warms into summer days

Where lovers walk beneath their shadowed gaze
and talk with birdsong, nature’s minstrelsy
so winter love warms into summer days,
rolls with all seasons to eternity

While talk and birdsong, nature’s minstrelsy
from dreams of yesterday new dreams create
roll with all seasons to eternity
as mountains in their splendour undulate

  1. There’s something nuptial about the purity of green in spring — a yearning infinitude – that makes everything dance. A basket of such May-flowers here.

    1. Thank you Kerfe: I wrote this as a note on my phone while travelling by bus, and deleted the original! So this version will have to stand…

  2. Tha pantoum is my favourite form and you have executed it so beautifully. Lovely imagery – and a gorgeous landscape in the photo. Just wonderful.

    1. I don’t think you can reblog with the plan I’m on, but you are welcome to link back to the post. Please don’t republish the text though, as this makes it difficult for me to publish in a book later.
