The Experiments in Fiction publication calendar is full up for 2025, but I am accepting submissions for 2026 via email: ingrid@experimentsinfiction.com.
What I am looking for
I will accept submissions of poetry and memoir, but I am looking to publish more full-length fiction, especially novels which are experimental and challenging in one form or other, be this narrative voice, structure or subject matter. I’m looking for stories which say something new, or perhaps something old in a new way! I value originality, craft and attention to detail.
What I offer
As a small, independent publisher, I have had success with several bestselling titles since the launch of EIF as a business in 2021: Wounds I Healed, The Poetry of Strong Women, edited by Gabriela Marie Milton (June 2022); Nature Speaks of Love and Sorrow, by Jeff Flesch (September 2022); Three-Penny Memories, A Poetic Memoir, by Barbara Harris Leonhard (October 2022); My Life With MND, by Daina Mason (December 2022) and The Colourblind Grief, by Jude Gorini (April 2023). Barbara Harris Leonhard was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for her poem, ‘Mom and I Play Lassos with Our Hysterectomy Scars,’ and The Colourblind Grief was a runner-up in the San Francisco Book Festival’s Gay category.
If I accept your submission, you will have the chance to join this list of bestselling authors, and you will also gain access to book shops and libraries. I pay generous royalty rates, and offer publicity through my blog and social media.
