Out Now: A Bracken Fern, Selected Poems 2020-2025

I’m excited to announce the publication of my latest poetry collection, A Bracken Fern, a retrospective of some of my favourite poems from the last five years. A lot has changed in that time. The first poems in the collection were written during the first Covid lockdown, which I experienced in the south of Spain. Then came a series of poems searching for light during a particularly dark period of my life. That light returned, as I came back to the UK and found love: I found a way back to myself.

The poems of the latter part of the collection are based mainly around my native Cumbria and my adoptive homeland of Northumberland: neighbouring counties, both dear to my heart. As well as many old favourites, there are plenty of new and previously unpublished poems in this collection.

I leave you with a reading of a Christmas poem (the one and only Christmas poem, in fact) from the collection, as that time of year is upon us once again. Here is ‘Star of Wonder’: enjoy it, and most of all, enjoy the book!
