Twitter Poetry Week 3

This week, I have mainly been writing tanka, as I’ve been trying to learn more about the form for the EIF Poetry Challenge. There are a few other forms in here too. Do let me know what you think; I’m always interested to know which micro-poems work best and why. This is a new style of writing for me, and the whole exercise is a learning curve.

Thank you to everyone else who took part in my #poetryparty this week, including:

@MJDougherty33
@sacosw
@kaddish_s
@triciasankey
@Miskmask
@LucysWorks
@MjayDixit
@MoSchoenfeld

You may already know some of these fine poets from WordPress: now is the time to discover their Twitter alter-egos! If you feel like taking part, all you need is a Twitter account. Follow the instructions in my pinned tweet and join in whenever the muse takes you…

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Ingrid

  1. First comment! You must have scared people off with the high standard of your work. Surely not! I loved your final Tanka about the words flying to greet you. I keep meaning to put a notebook by my bed to stop me going to sleep trying to remember a line I have just thought of. 😂

  2. I enjoyed reading all of your poems, Ingrid. I loved “The Golden Dawn” with its possibilities of the day to come. I found the final poem very relatable, as I often wake up to write. Enjoy your weekend! <3

  3. Yay! Thanks for the shoutout and the inspiration to get into Twitter Poetry. It’s a new experience but a good one for sure 🙂 I loved your tanka series! Especially the last one: “Mists of sleep” that’s so awesome, Ingrid! (^_^)

  4. oh my Ingrid I don’t know where to start or which on I like most!
