Just call on Ollie… #poetry #fitness

I have a personal trainer
and his name is Ollie:
if you want to shed those lockdown pounds
just call on Ollie.

He will not let you stop to drink
he shows no mercy
and don’t you even stop to think
you’re tired, or thirsty.

He’ll make you race him down the hill
along the seashore
then all the way back up again
screaming ‘Now, push more!

He’s absolutely ruthless
and he’s super speedy:
Appeals for rest? An exercise
in futility.

Since he got his brand new bike
there’s no holding back:
he’s only three years old but he
will keep you on track.

So if you’re trying to lose some weight,
keep fit and healthy
and you need some motivation then
just call on Ollie!

My son got his first bike last month…

And boy, is he fast! The stabilisers don’t seem to slow him down at all. Every time I take him out, I have to sprint to keep up with him. At least it’ll get me fit, if I don’t end up needing a hip replacement first! A little bit of Saturday fun, and another contribution to #NaPoWriMo2021. I’m not following the prompts, I’m just doing my own thing. Freewheeling!

  1. Making wonderful memories Ingrid. We all remember our first bike and you write a lovely poem to go with it ☺️
