I took these photos in Carlisle a few weeks back, but wanted to share them with you now, and wish you all a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Sweet Solstice, depending on what you celebrate. I hope you find something to warm your heart at this festive time of year! The featured image shows Carlisle Castle, almost 1000 years old and standing proud beneath a rare blanket of snow.

I’ll be back for Festive Sonnet Sunday, then I’ll be taking a break to prepare lots of exciting things for EIF in the New Year, and maybe even take some time off, if that is possible!
Best wishes,
Ingrid
you had me until “rare”.
You like snow?
I’m thinking it probably snows from September to about August up there!
Not a chance!
Lovely, Ingrid! Happy Holidays to you and yours!
I totally forgot about Festive Sonnet Sunday.
Thank you Merril! Don’t worry, I know everyone is busy at this time of year 😅

You are not the first person from the US who has said this, Cheryl: I must remember not to take these historic sites for granted!

Merry merry Christmas Ingrid. If you’re half as amazing next year as you are this, then that’s great too. 🙏🏾
That’s not too much to ask then! 😅 Merry Christmas Jude! 🎄
Yeah, but by all means, spread your wings and fly. 🙏🏾
You too, Jude! 😊🌟
Carlisle! I worked there years ago for a Month or two. Long story but I woke up next to a sheep….no joke. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Those sheep can be very persuasive…🤣🤣🤣
Well I was drunk so I don’t know if I persuaded the sheep or it persuaded me to be honest.
