It’s that time of year again, when I take a look back over a selection of the year’s poetry. The video below features some of the poems I made into Instagram poetry cards. I think the designs get better as the year progresses, especially once I started using Canva – even the free version is great for Instagramming your poetry, in case you want to give it a try…

You have achieved so much and I applaud your openness about your monthly issues, I used to be squashed … mainly by other women. Even in a conversation with my niece the other day about her issues her great aunt from the other side tried to hush me … others need to know it’s not so easy :)

Thank you Kate 🙂 once I get proper treatment and have more energy I will do more advocacy work. I believe many women are suffering badly and have been misdiagnosed.

in my day the only label was ‘all in your head’, and there was NO support and sympathy at any level … eventually I wrote it down as a ‘permanent disability’ in my application for a state govt job. The doctor laughed loudly and proclaimed more women should own that … result was I could take all the leave I needed and it couldn’t come out of allocated annual/sick leave as I’d declared it a pd ;)

Well I’m glad you stuck up for yourself. Many people still think it’s all in our heads, and this kind of attitude probably contributed to my mum’s death, so I feel very strongly about it.
