There’s such a lot of world to see
my darling boy,
there’s such a lot of earth, and sea and sky.
There are birds on the wing
—Oh, how sweetly they sing!—
while a squadron of boats sail on by.
There is such a lot of world to love
my turtle dove,
don’t let anyone tell you there isn’t.
There are candyfloss clouds
far away from the crowds
who are blinded by doubt and division.
There are such a lot of games to play
this very day,
like our walk on the dunes in the sun
while the seagulls carouse
and the sparrows play house
there is joy
and our day’s just begun.
There is such a lot of world to see
my darling boy,
such a wealth of wonder in each day!
So don’t waste a minute,
go out and get in it
and take time to smile as you play.

Enjoying getting back out in the world with my baby: enjoying the shape of words, the images and light they recreate…
How lovely, Ingrid! His first spring, and you have such a beautiful part of the world to show him. 💙

it’s a pleasure to read this – I can write poetry but not proper sentences it seems!
