Vincent Ehindero Award #2

Thanks to the lovely Lindsay of Live, parent, teach, repeat I have been nominated for my second Vincent Ehindero Award. Lindsay’s blog is a hilarious read for parents juggling busy lives, and also deals with educational issues. I recommend it highly to anyone who shares these interests.

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
  2. Make a post of the award (with a photo of the logo).
  3. Post the rules.
  4. Ask 5-10 questions of your choice.
  5. Nominate 10-30 other bloggers (or more) and notify them.

Lindsay’s questions, with my answers:

  1. Do you ever compare yourself to anyone? If yes, who?
I suppose my mum. I lost my mum when I was a kid. Now I’m older than she was when she died, and I often wonder about how we are similar, and how we are different. I get compared to my mother-in-law as well, but that is another story!
  2. What is your most beloved childhood memory?
From early childhood, trips to Blackpool with my parents. From later on, exploring the Lake District every weekend and school holiday.
  3. Which life lesson did you learn the hard way?
No one else is responsible for your problems but you.
  4. What can you do today that you couldn’t do one year ago?
Hurdler’s pose in yoga. I still can’t quite believe I can do this!
  5. If you could choose one book as a mandatory read for secondary schools, what would it be?
Great question! Probably The Handmaid’s Tale. We read it at school, but not sure it was mandatory. Anyway there’s a lot of lessons in there about what can happen when society breaks down, and a violent and brutal regime takes power.
  6. Can you describe your life in a 6 word sentence?
Still learning, every single f%$king day.

Questions for my nominees:

  1. Who would you like to see as next ruler of your country, and why?
  2. How have you survived lockdown?
  3. If you could meet any historical figure, who would it be, and why?
  4. If you had a time machine but could only travel either backwards or forwards, which would you choose, and why?
  5. What is the meaning of life?
  6. What is your favourite comedy show or movie (has to be comedy).

My Nominees:

Deborah Klee
Laura Schmidt
M.Jay Dixit
Hannah Stewart
Lyn Crain
Benji
Somedatta Sengupta
Rishika Jain

Congratulations to all of my nominees! I have chosen them not only because they have great blogs (which they all do) but because they are wonderful, supportive members of this blogging community, who always seem to have a kind word to say when I need it most. I highly recommend that you connect with these bloggers and show them your support.

  1. Thank you Ingrid for your kind words and nomination. You too are a supportive blogger and friend who I have enjoyed getting to know through social media.

  2. I loved reading your answers, Ingrid… The Handmaid’s tale is an absolute must-read, especially today. I never visited the Lake District though I’ve read some about it, sounds magical. The Hurdler’s pose, wow that is total awesome insanity, gal. Love the humble way you write it all, too. And the last one… oh yeah, I’m with you. ;))

      1. I’ll be lucky if I can ever do half lotus without grimacing. ;)))) 😭😂Power to you gal ✌️👯‍♂️🙌😅

  3. Hearty Congratulations on your award! I just googled Hurdler’s pose, looks like a very tough hip-hop dance move 😅 congrats on your achivement. Thanks again for nominating me and for those kind words 🙂

    1. Oh don’t worry about this – I think I’ve unofficially gone award free myself. I think these are great to get started and promote other bloggers but after a while they don’t seem necessary I think! ❤️

      1. Don’t worry about mine, honestly-I just wanted to give you a shout out as you are a very supportive member of this community! ❤️🙏⭐️
