Happy Little Counting Rhymer

I am a happy rhymer
1, 2, 3, 4 ,5
I’m practising my counting skills
Yes, fingers I have five

I’m such a happy rhymer
8, 9, 10, 11, 12
I’m practising my counting skills
Toes, I’ve counted twelve

Therapy

I have a stack of poems, (thoughts)
Need to get off my chest
And now I have a website
Can offload weak (and best)

It doesnโ€™t matter what they are
It is my therapy
Which every writer wants to do
With me? itโ€™s poetry

There is the constant tug-of-war
Write for myself or you?
This time I really do not care
Who likes it, me or you

Everyone is Mortal RIP Etta James

Etta James was an American blues singer who sang at the Montreux Jazz Festival many times during her career. She was Blues Artist of the Year on no less than fourteen occasions. She died after a long battle with leukaemia on 20 January 2012, age 73

Everyone is mortal
Everyone will die
Etta James has passed away
Many said goodbye

Reader you are mortal
Reader you will die
Even I as poet
Some day I will die
