Three new poems published in Halloween/Revolution Chapbook!

After sharing with you some of my failed competition entries, I am delighted to announce that I have finally won a poetry competition: a wonderful Halloween treat! I found the competition, from Friends of Dorothy Poetry Series, on Instagram. The call was to ‘Submit 2 poems, 1 on Halloween, 1 on Revolution, no more than 39 words each.’ This was such an unusual challenge that I could not resist taking part.

My poems ‘What the Hell-o-ween?’ and ‘Atomic Revolution’ were chosen as winning entries, alongside the wonderfully talented Jaya Avendel and Constance Bourg! These poems will be published in the Halloween/Revolution Chapbook from Priming the Pump Publishing on 31 October. I was also asked to write a collaborative poem with the Chapbook’s editor, Renée LaMie. This was the first time I’ve written a collaborative poem, and it was an enjoyable and inspiring experience. Both of our final edits of this poem will also appear in the chapbook, mine under the title ‘Halloween Triumph.’ There will be a limited number of chapbooks printed, so if you would like a copy, order early to avoid disappointment!

It’s a ‘hell-o’-we-need
some fun tonight’
kind of a night.
All those disembodied souls
haunting the town
faces pale in the moonlight…
