Dear Readers, I have a very exciting announcement for you this afternoon: Gabriela Marie Milton, Amazon #1 Bestselling author of Woman: Splendor and Sorrow will be publishing a new poetry anthology, Wounds I Healed: The Poetry of Strong Women with EIF! The publication is planned for the end of May 2022, and submissions are open from now until April 15, 2022. Please visit Gabriela’s site for details of how to submit. I look forward to working with Gabriela on this publication: it is a huge honour to be working with such a talented poet and editor!
In other news…
Sincere thanks to everyone who voted for me for Spillwords Author of the Year. Unfortunately, I didn’t win the award, but I’ve finished crying into my cornflakes now, and it’s time to move on to the next exciting project…we don’t always get the results we want, as writers, and indeed in life in general, but we must learn to take failures on the chin, so we can enjoy our successes all the more!
Many life lessons learned, and many new (ad)ventures on the horizon.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Ingrid
Thanks for the announcement, Ingrid. And.. oh well, I should say you did well to appear in the list of nominees. There’s always a second chance and every writer has their day. It still remains in my heart that you, my friend, is a great writer who has mastered the power of words. Cheers to your wonderful writing. Keep it up.
Thank you kindly, Lamittan!
You’re most welcome, Ingrid. 💖
The anthology sounds interesting–and super-quick turnaround time! (Good luck!)😅
I’m sorry you didn’t win, but it’s based on how many people went to Spillwords and voted. . .so not really a reflection of talent, as far as I see it. I’m sure you have more honors coming your way!
I second both of Merril’s comments!
Thanks David!
Thank you, Merril: I am not disheartened, just more determined 😃
😀
What an exciting project, so happy to see two great minds working together!! 🤩
Thanks Tricia! 😊
This is exciting news, Ingrid. 🙂
While you may have experienced a loss, you didn’t fail, Ingrid. Be proud of just another notch towards greater success! Thanks for the heads up for submissions. 🙂
Oo, hearts in my eyes at this joint venture! I am looking forward to writing some words worthy of submission.
I feel ya on the award; I so wanted it to be you as Author of the Year rather than someone I have not interacted with before. May the words flow and further recognition come soon. I suppose also there is always this time next year! 🙂
I am glad you want to take part, Jaya!
I am sure we both have bright futures regardless of this particular award, and to be nominated is itself an honour 😊
Thanks for the heads up, Ingrid. So awesome she’ll be using EIF to publish!
Thanks Lisa! I hope you’ll submit something 😊
You’re welcome. We’ll see 🙂
I see successes and honors continuing far into the future, Ingrid. You will always have my vote! <3 <3 <3
Thank you, Cheryl: I appreciate that very much 😊❤️
How wonderful! I’m excited for you, Gabriela, and for all of the wonderfully talented poets this Anthology will draw. Congratulations!!
I’m excited too, Jeff, thanks!

Yes, thank you Kerfe, I couldn’t hope for better!
Thanks for the heads up. 👏
Remember you don’t need a badge to prove your worth. You are so talented.
All the best to you in everything. 👏
Thank you Selma! Definitely no badges required over here ❤️
This is so exciting Ingrid… LOVE all of your good news.
You are always a winner in my eyes my dear friend.
Heading to see Gabriela now.. fun stuff! 💃💃💃
Now that is so exciting, Ingrid! This collaboration is going to be brilliant! I am sharpening my quill. ❤️❤️
As for your not winning, its just the other person got more votes. Who knows maybe they won by just one vote! 😏
Glad to hear it, Punam!
Winner or not, I have plenty to keep me busy, and if success is measured in joy, then I’m a winner 🥰
